Race to the Top/STEM Conference: 12/10-12/11

Baltimore, December 10 to December 11, 2009

There are a number of national partners invested in ensuring states strengthen the quality of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education for all students. These partners realize the magnitude of the opportunity presented in the $4.35 billion Race-to-the-Top (RttT) competitive grant fund through the U.S. Department of Education. The shared interest of these partners to assist states in developing and implementing high quality, outcomes-focused and accountability-driven state STEM plans is the impetus for this resource conference. While the RttT competition adds urgency to state development of STEM education improvement plans, this meeting is intended to support all interested states through building and strengthening public private partnerships, regardless of RttT state selection.
